ROSES FOR MEREDITH

16-year-old college student, Meredith, receives a surprise, two rosebuds, one from Cole and the other from Tyler. Her delight in her chemistry major changes with one phone call. Meredith’s dad asks her to move back home.

Meredith returns to Porttown after her spring semester to help with the fall corn crop. Her mother walks away. Meredith must cope with loss while taking care of her family. She works at a floral shop to replace her mother. Tyler spends time with Meredith that summer. They support and love each other; Tyler in his quest to be an engineer and pilot, and Meredith in her wish to study chemistry and become an Air Force officer.

An accident sidelines Meredith’s dad. Colin steps up to help Meredith and her family. They, in turn, assist their neighbor, Colin, with his first corn harvest. Colin and Meredith know and care for each other from earlier times. They go out on several dates. Tyler flies himself to spend Thanksgiving with Meredith and her family. They express their happiness in being able to spend their next semesters together.

Meredith returns to State. Joy becomes despair. After a time Colin visits, bringing hope for her future.
